SvanNet - Firmware update (Article)

1. Under the "Station list", select the unit that needs a firmware update.

2. Select the Status to view the "Firmware Version".

3. The station's "Status" will be visible under the Status category.

 - Only continue if the Firmware update file is a newer version of the firmware listed on the Station.

4. Tuggle on the "Power Saving Mode Override Switch".

To understand if an update is required, contact the Specto Technology support team

5. Click "Choose File" and select the .bin file provided by Specto Technology.

The file name must not exceed 8 characters. If needed, shorten the name before uploading to SvanNet.

6. Once the correct file is selected, click "Upload". This transfers the firmware file into the station’s memory.
7. In the "Firmwares in Storage" section, locate and select the file that was uploaded.
8. Click "Load Firmware". This will install the new firmware onto the station.
9. Select the "Restart instrument (Preserve settings)" so that the current settings of the client station are preserved.

Depending on the quality of the connection, sometimes the loading screen is too long; it is enough to refresh the page.

10.  Once the unit is back online, repeat steps 1-3 to confirm the firmware uploaded. If, due to the connection, some step does not pass, you can check

 - The firmware has been transferred to the station and is available from the list; if so, repeat the rest from this point.

 - Has it loaded correctly (check the status)? If not, continue from this point as well.
