Loadsensing Repeater GW and Node Setup (ARTICLE)

How to program a Loadsensing Gateway, Repeater GWs and Nodes for a repeater network

Gateway setup:

  1. Configuration > Repeater Plugin > Enable repeater
    1. Downstream devices, list all LOADSENSING NODE ID'S for all nodes and repeaters downstream of the main GW
    2. Local Devices are LS nodes that connect directly to this GW.
    3. LS Node IDs of LS Nodes are simply the Node ID,
LS Node IDs for the repeaters are separate from the GW ID and are listed on the information sheet and "Gateway Status" tab of the repeater.

Repeater Setup:

  1. Low power radio
    1. Radio frequency should match the main Gateway
    2. Radio NETWORK ID AND PASSWORD should match the main gateway

  2. Repeater Configuration
    1. Repeater ID - This is an ID Assigned to each repeater in the network. Repeater IDs are assigned in ascending order for each repeater moving away from the GW.
      1. It might be good to skip numbers to leave room to adjust the network later on. See the example below.

    2. Local Devices - is a list of all LS Nodes(not repeaters) that connect directly to this repeater or GW.
    3. Downstream Devices - This is a list of LS Nodes and Repeaters(USE THE LS NODE ID) that are further down the chain from this Repeater

Node Setup:

  1. Configure the nodes as usual using the setup wizard:
    1. Region - must match the main GW(FCC in the US)
    2. Advanced Radio options - Freq Group also needs to match the Main GW

    3. Network Credentials - Must match the NETWORK ID and PASSWORD of the Main GW
