NOCO Troubleshooting Guide
Troubleshoot your NOCO Genius 5 quickly by checking the error indicator lights on the front panel. [1, 2]
- Standby Light Only: The charger doesn't detect a battery. Ensure the clamps are clean and connected securely (red to positive, black to negative). If your battery is extremely dead (below 1V), the charger won't recognize it. Use Force Mode by holding the mode button for 5 seconds until the lights flash, then press it again to select your charge mode. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Reverse Polarity: The clamps are hooked up backwards to the battery terminals. Disconnect and reconnect properly. [1, 2]
- Bad Battery Light: The battery is shorted or cannot hold a charge. Have it professionally tested. You can try running the built-in Repair Mode by holding the mode button for 3 seconds while in the 12V mode, and then pressing it again to desulfate the battery. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- High Voltage: The selected battery mode doesn't match the battery's voltage (e.g., trying to charge a 12V battery on 6V mode). [1, 2]
- All LEDs Flashing: Temperature is too hot/cold, or there is an internal fault. Allow the charger to rest in an area within standard operating limits (-20°C to 40°C). [1, 2, 3]
