Loadsensing Gateway (LS-G6) APN will not register a cellular network

If the gateway is failing to register a cellular network or losing remote access after rebooting, this guide provides solutions, including setting the correct APN, configuring advanced modem settings, and methods to regain remote access.

Problem: Gateway will not register a cellular network. Presents in three modes:

  1. The gateway (GW) modem may indicate it is connected to an operator with the Internet Connection status "ping OK" and Remote Access showing “Connection OK,” however remote access is still not possible via “loadsensing.wocs3.com/[GWID].”

  2. The gateway modem may show it is connected to an operator, but both Internet Connection(Ping) and Remote Access indicate "failure", preventing access via “loadsensing.wocs3.com/[GWID]

  3. The Cellular Modem status indicates “Down,” despite the SIM showing active, and no remote access is possible through “loadsensing.wocs3.com/[GWID].

Secondary symptom:

The gateway may initially be inaccessible via remote access. In some cases, after performing one or two reboots—allowing a ten-minute wait between each reboot—the gateway may regain accessibility. However, it is important to note that any further reboots can result in the gateway going offline again.

Solutions:

Before you begin DO NOT USE THE RESET BUTTON ON THE GW, reboot by unplugging, waiting for the green light to go off, then plug back in.

Ensure to follow this order of operations to restore internet capabilities. Connecting to the GW:

  1. Connect to the GW by following one of the points in this category
    • Local Connection: Make a local connection by plugging the USB-C to Ethernet adapter into the GW and the other end of the Ethernet into the PC
    • Reboot the Gateway: Reboot the gateway by unplugging the GW, wait until the green light goes off, and then plug it back in. Wait ten minutes, and check for a remote connection. Repeat two to three times. If this does not work, try one of the other methods.
    • External Network Connection: Connect the GW to an external network with the internet(RV55, Starlink, office network,…). Reboot the GW as in step 2, wait ten minutes, and check for a remote connection. If this doesn't work, try method 1.
  1. On the PC open the desired web browser and type in the URL:
    1. If the local connection is the connection being used, the URL will always be: 169.254.0.1)
    2. If the "Reboot the Gateway" or "External Network Connection" is the connection being used, the URL will always be: "loadsensing.wocs3.com/[GWID]"

  2. Fill out the default username and password
    1. The default Username is "admin"
    2. Password: review the information sheet provided by Worldsensing
