Adding Points to an Existing Delta Watch Network
Learn how to activate points without coordinates in Delta Watch, calculate coordinates, adjust networks, and reprocess epochs with new points.
Click Point and limit management and go to the Points tab.
Click Refresh if this module was already open.
Sort the points by the clicking the Remark column.
You'll see the epoch in which each point without coordinates was first detected.
Make note of the epochs (time frame) you will use for the manual epoch.
Click Epochs. Select the auto network for the project of interest. Use the time interval, start date, and end date and click Display to find your epoch of interest.
If you expand the timestamp and click Total station data then the arrow in the Targets column you can confirm the points were shot if they are listed, but grayed out an not used.
Click back to the timestamp and click
(copy epoch) then select the appropriate manual network, leave Activate new points checked and click Next. Select the points you want to activate and click Next. Click Finish.
A popup will offer to take you to the manual network, click Yes.
Expand the epoch timestamp, click Coordinates then Approximate coordinates.
If the coordinates for the new points are 0 instead of dashes, repeat the following step until the coordinate values don't change:
Select the Calculate boxes for the new points and click
(Calculate approximate coordinates). Click OK.
If the coordinates for the new points were dashes, you only need to calculate approximate coordinates once.
Click Apply.
Move the new points from Fixed Point or Datum Points to New points or Non-datum points.
Adjustment type: Hierarchical
Calculation mode: Robust
Click Total station data then
(Calculate adjustment). Click Apply.
Click Coordinates under timestamp. Click Output coordinates tab.
Highlight the new points (ctrl + click).
Right click and select Write coordinates in point definition.
Click OK. You will see points written popup. Click OK.
Click on Point and limit management and go to the Points tab.
If the new points are reference points, you will need to select the points, right click and Set point type to Reference Point.
Click Apply.
Click the Point group tab and make sure the new points are in the desired groups.
Click Apply after any changes are made.
Reprocessing data to include new points
Any new gkas that arrive will create epochs with the updated points included - but existing epochs need to be reprocessed.
If the epochs that need reprocessing are from the last 24 hours, you can simply delete the epochs from the auto network in the Epochs section. The files from the last 24 hours are kept in the base directory and will be automatically begin reloading within 10 minutes.
Go to Epochs and go to the auto version of the network of interest.
Click on an epoch timestamp so that the Restore Files button shows up at the top. Restore Interval and select the start end end epochs to be reprocessed. Click ok to restore the files. You will then delete the old epochs so the restored files will be processed. Usually within 10 minutes the epochs will begin reprocessing.
Older versions of Delta Watch may require manual file restoration.
Prepare the GKA you wish to reprocess in a folder on your computer. Recent GKA can be retrieved from the Base directory listed under the automated network in the Networks section. Older files may need to be copied and unzipped from the Archive directory listed under the projects name in the Projects section.
Go to the automated network under Networks and uncheck Activate automatic loading. Click Apply.
Go to the Epochs section and delete the epochs you're going to replace.
Copy the GKAs into the Base directory.
Go back to the automated network under Networks and check Activate automatic loading. Click Apply.
Delta Watch will now reprocesses the GKAs and begin creating and populating the epochs.
